This landmark partnership reflects a shared commitment by both associations to promote health, wellness, and solidarity among media practitioners—not only in Kuching but across the broader journalism landscape.

More than just a run, the event aims to strengthen camaraderie within the industry, while highlighting the importance of mutual support and collaboration in the demanding world of media.

CJA president Alice Wee described the partnership as a significant milestone for both organisations.

“This collaboration brings media professionals together in a refreshing, health-driven initiative that not only strengthens our industry bonds, but also demonstrates the power of cooperation in journalism.

“Engaging media supporters through recreational initiatives is a fantastic way to foster connection beyond the newsroom. We hope to take the lead in creating spaces where media professionals can unwind while staying active,” she said.

KDJA president Ronnie Teo echoed her sentiments, noting the challenges of maintaining wellness in the fast-paced world of journalism.

“It’s easy to neglect personal health in this profession, but wellness plays a crucial role in ensuring media professionals can stay focused, resilient, and energised for their important work,” he said.

Teo also revealed fun and creative touches that will make the Media Run truly memorable.

“We have come up with unique t-shirt designs themed around journalism. Our medal is also designed based on a camera, with our mascot being an orang utan journalist.

“We hope that these will add excitement to the Media Run, making it more appealing to both media professionals and the public. With unique designs and meaningful symbols, we aim to create an engaging experience that participants will remember long after the event,” he said.

Registration is now open at www.malaysianrunners.com. Manual registration forms are also available at Revrun store, Green Heights Mall, Kuching.

The run features three categories: 3km and 5km fun runs, and a 10km competitive race.
