KUCHING, May 7: Japanese YouTuber couple iChang and Jimmy recently visited Sarawak for the first time.

Based on a new video uploaded on their YouTube account last Thursday (May 4), the couple can be seen filming themselves around Kuching city centre.

Their first stop was Choon Hui Café, located at Ban Hock Road, where the duo enjoyed the famous ‘Sarawak Laksa’ followed by ‘Tea C Special’ and ‘Wheat Grass Juice’ beverages.

The couple also tried the ‘Double Extra Cheese Tarik Naan’ and ‘Aloo Gobi’ at Ceylonese Restaurant and ‘Beef Noodle’ at Ah Heng’s stall on Green Hill Corner.

In the same video, the couple can also be seen visiting the Borneo Cultures Museum, craft shops along Main Bazaar Road, Kek Lapis Warisan, and strolling along the Kuching Waterfront.

“This was our trip to Kuching, Sarawak, for the first time. (It’s a) lovely city and a walkable city (which is) different from Kuala Lumpur.

“We were walking around the city all day. (It’s a) very laid-back town,” the duo said.

iChang went on to say that the trip was very short for them to discover many other attractions in Sarawak.

“We didn’t see what Sarawak really has (including) the nature. I want to discover deeper next time,” she said.

Jimmy also mentioned that their next visit to Sarawak would be more ‘advanced’, where they would not miss the opportunity to go to the jungles to see the orangutans, hornbills, and nature.

The couple, whose real names are Ai Nishida (iChang) and Yusuke Nishida (Jimmy), are big fans of Malaysian food and document their foodie exploits via their YouTube channel, which has over 372,000 subscribers.
