Kuching Jazz Festival 2022 to feature performers from Indonesia, Australia, Thailand, Singapore

KUCHING, Oct 19: The Kuching Jazz Festival 2022 which will be held on Oct 28 and 29 will feature local performers as well as foreign artists from Indonesia, Australia, Thailand and Singapore.

During a press conference at Bangunan Baitulmakmur II here on Tuesday (Oct 18), Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting said local artists include Noryn Aziz, Leon Sapphire, Ta’Dan, Ushera and Ky Den from Malaysia.

Others include Hendri Rotinsulu and Jazmint Band from Indonesia, Phum Viphurit from Thailand, Freyja Garbett from Australia, and Dawn Wong & The Ark Royal from Singapore.


Meanwhile, the chief executive officer of the organiser Hemisphere Corporation Sdn Bhd, Mark Ferguson, said a total of 500 tickets have been sold so far through the official event website at www.kuchingjazz.com.

“We are targeting at least 1,000 visitors each day of the festival with a total of 2,000 visitors for the whole event,” he said, according to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

Also present at the press conference with Ting and Mark were Place Borneo Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Mona Abdul Manap and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) representative Jesny Miduk. —DayakDaily
