KUCHING, August 9: The 17th edition of the annual Kuching Inter-Cultural Mooncake Festival will be held this Sept 17-24 at the renowned Carpenter Street.

Organisers Federation of Kuching Division Community Associations and Old Market Community Association hoped artistic, cultural, traditional or modern performers, and entertainers would join in the fun.

“The festival, which is often viewed as the longest street party in Kuching to promote the feasting of sights, sounds and a multitude of taste, is rapidly growing in terms of content.

“It has become a signature event in the city and is eagerly awaited by Kuchingites, be it stall holders, performers, participants or visitors,” the event organising committee said in a statement.

With backing from the state government and business community, the 8-day spectacle could pull in roughly 120,000 visitors.

“We strive to showcase as many ethnic cultures as possible in all their glory, with their colours, music and food,” it added.

Those who wish to perform at the festival can contact Sim Han Tong at 019-8882000. Sim is the entertainment coordinator.

Entrepreneurs, traders and businesses wanting to set up stalls to sell food, arts, souvenirs and other products can get in touch with Pung Siok Eng at 012-8865396 or Thien (082-242940). Each stall is priced at RM320 for the whole duration of the festival. — DayakDaily
