Kuching City Open Darts Championship sees surge in popularity

KUCHING, July 24: There has been a surge of popularity in the Kuching City Open (KCO) Darts Championship among darts players locally and from outside Sarawak and the country.

The KCO Darts Championship was held from July 23-24, which aimed to strengthen friendships, encourage Kuching residents to adopt a healthy lifestyle, and promote the city as a destination for sports tourism.


The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) in collaboration with its friendly neighbourhood (KJM) and other government and private agencies organised the tournament, which was held at the Mydin Hypermarket Vista Tunku here.

According to a press release, with the organisation of the championship, it is hoped that it would be able to strengthen relationships between players, the government, and private agencies and promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

The KCO Darts Championship featured two categories: Open Doubles and KJM Open Doubles.

In the Open Doubles category, TDC won first place, while Silver Bullet placed second.

Trophies and cash prizes were awarded to both teams, with TDC receiving RM800 and Silver Bullet receiving RM400.

In addition, KJM BGS won the championship in the KJM Open Doubles category, while KJM Taman Sukma finished second, with both teams receiving trophies and cash prizes.

KJM BGS received RM300 and KJM Taman Sukma received RM150. — DayakDaily
