KUCHING, Feb 23: The Kuching Love Book Association will hold their seventh blood donation campaign on Saturday, Feb 25 from 9am to 2pm at Aeroville Mall (first floor) here.
According to a press statement, the ‘Blood Donation Campaign 7.0’ is in response to the Blood Bank Sarawak General Hospital’s request for assistance in addressing the issue of insufficient blood stock.
As one blood donation can save three lives, it is hoped that people from all walks of life will actively participate in and support this meaningful blood donation event, thereby assisting those in need of blood.
Anyone over the age of 18 and weighing 45 kg is eligible to donate blood, while those under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The entire blood donation process takes only five to thirty minutes, depending on the individual.
Those who wish to donate must have gotten at least five hours of sleep, eaten breakfast, and abstained from alcoholic beverages for at least eight hours the night before.
The first 100 successful donors will receive a gratitude goodies bag. The gift set includes an eco bag, a face towel, hand sanitiser, and 5kgs of white rice, Milo, oats, Nestum, milk, and biscuits.
The association expressed gratitude to the Blood Bank Sarawak General Hospital and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (Kuching Branch), as well as Aeroville Mall for providing a blood donation location.
