KUCHING, May 8: Kuching confirms another positive case of coronavirus (Covid-19) today.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said there was one positive case of Covid-19 which was reported today and the patient is from Kuching.
The committee disclosed that there are currently 100 active cases of Covid-19 in Kuching and 159 cases are being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
Meanwhile, the additional positive case has brought the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak to 538 people.
At the same time, there were 117 cases of persons under investigation (PUI) registered today while 85 cases are awaiting laboratory results.
SDMC observed that there were six patients who have recovered and discharged from hospitals today.
The committee noted out of the six patients, five were from SGH and one from Sibu Hospital.
On another note, SDMC revealed that there were 350 people whom have returned to Sarawak as of today and being placed at the respective hotels in Sarawak as persons under surveillance (PUS).—DayakDaily
