KUCHING, June 25: RM80 million has been approved to construct a 17km road connecting Kampung Bukit Kinyau to Sarikei.
According to a news report from TV Sarawak (TVS) today, Kuala Rajang assemblyman Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the allocation to implement the project was approved by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).
“This is another good news for the folks in Kinyau. This area is one of the fishing villages in my area that is not yet connected by road,” he said during a Ngiling Bidai ceremony held at Sare Community Hall in Sarikei yesterday (June 24).
Kampung Bukit Kinyau has existed since the 1950s and is a village with more than 60 houses that can only be reached via the river road from Sarikei and Tanjung Manis. — DayakDaily
