KPJ Kuching selected as Covid-19 vaccination centre

KUCHING, May 24: KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital has been selected to participate as a Covid-19 vaccination centre (VC).

KPJ Kuching in a press statement today said the hospital was selected by ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd (ProtectHealth), the Health Ministry-appointed implementer of private medical practitioner participation in the national Covid-19 immunisation programme, and will be monitored closely by the State Health Department.

The hospital added the selection of recipients and their respective vaccination dates are coordinated and determined by the Ministry of Health (MoH) through registration via MySejahtera and vaksincovid.gov.my.

“We do not accept walk-ins and will only vaccinate recipients in accordance with the recipient list provided by the MoH.

“The public is advised not to visit the VC without prior appointment for this purpose,” said KPJ Kuching.

KPJ Healthcare disclosed that ten of the group’s hospitals in Malaysia are VCs while 20 KPJ Hospitals have signed up with ProtectHealth to participate as VCs for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the National Immunisation Plan (NIP).

Yesterday, Minister for Local Government and Housing Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian disclosed that Covid-19 vaccination in private hospitals in Sarawak will start tomorrow (May 25).

Dr Sim who is also the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor had on May 21 revealed that over 30 private general practitioner (GP) clinics and seven private hospitals in Sarawak have registered with ProtectHealth to assist in rolling out Covid-19 vaccination to the public on an appointment basis through the MySejahtera app. — DayakDaily
