Kpg Sampun Kelili to undergo road widening, street light upgrades

ASAJAYA, June 5: Kampung Sampun Kelili is set for significant development as the Sarawak government plans to upgrade road infrastructure and street lighting in the village.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP), Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, announced that the proposed projects include the widening of roads in Kampung Sampun Kelili, Kampung Sampun Gerunggang, Kampung Sampun Tebun, and Kampung Sampun Baru.

“These proposed projects will be brought to the next meeting of the Integrated Regional Development Agency (IRSDA),” he said when speaking at Asajaya District-level Gawai Dayak 2024 held last night (June 4).

Abdul Karim who is also IRSDA chairman further said the RM500,000 Batang Samarahan and Batang Sadong Bridges expansion projects are expected to start soon.

He also hoped that the development projects that have been approved and planned can benefit the villagers and increase the residents’ income in the near future.

Also present were Sarawak Commissioner of Police Dato Mancha Ata, Asajaya District Officer Rais Ahmat, Malay Temenggung of Samarahan Division Chek Bujang, Chinese Temenggung of Samarahan Division Liew Shark Sen and Penghulu of Kampung Sampun Kelili, John Gawit Dugat. — DayakDaily
