KUCHING, June 24: A total of 73 individuals were left homeless after five houses were destroyed by a fire in Kampung Pemukat in Lawas yesterday (June 23).
According to an updated report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, one victim suffered a burn on his hand in the incident.

Firefighters from Bomba Lawas, assisted by Bomba Sipitang from Sabah, managed to contain the flame from spreading to other houses.
The total loss incurred and the cause of the fire are still under investigation. — DayakDaily
