KUCHING, April 22: Applications for the Kampung Gedong Baru Expansion Scheme (SPK) developed by the Sarawak Land and Survey Department (JTS) will be open starting tomorrow (April 23).
According to a statement issued by the JTS Public Relations Unit today, anyone who is eligible may apply for the scheme through the ARES website, and the JTS Samarahan Division will process each application.
For any inquiries regarding Gedong Baru SPK, applicants may contact JTS Samarahan Division at 082-671213 or landsurvey@sarawak.gov.my.
Through JTS, the Sarawak government implements the Resettlement Scheme (SPS) and Village Expansion Scheme (SPK) to provide more comfortable, planned, and equipped residential lots with basic facilities such as roads, water and electricity supply, and drainage system.
JTS said the Sarawak government also introduced a new policy to upgrade the specifications and basic infrastructure components in the latest SPS and SPK projects.
“The new SPS and SPK projects are now more structured with new approaches such as improving road networks from gravel roads to tar-sealed roads.
“Other improvements include filled walls and concrete drains which were not available previously. The Sarawak government will bear all costs of these walls, roads, and drains, which is about RM100,000 to RM120,000 per lot,” it said.
Another new initiative worth noting is reducing the premium rate by 50 per cent for residential lots in all SPS and SPK projects that are not more than RM2,500 per lot. — DayakDaily
