KPDNHEP to incorporate ‘Malaysian Family’ slogan in Buy Malaysia Campaign, other programmes

KUCHING, Oct 21: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) will start to incorporate the ‘Malaysian Family’ slogan into its programmes to instill unity and shared values among Malaysians.

Its minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi said several programmes under the ministry such as Buy Malaysia Campaign (BMC) will add in the slogan as “Buy ‘Malaysian Family’ Product” or “Buy Malaysian Product–Malaysian Family”.

“There are many programmes implemented to assist the traders and consumers where we will incorporate the slogan into them in line with Prime Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s call for the spirit of ‘Malaysian Family’,” he said at a press conference after officiating at a KPDNHEP media engagement session at a hotel in Kuching today.

At the event, Nanta handed over a RM10,000 contribution to the Federation of Sarawak Journalists Association (FSJA) for the upcoming Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) which will be held on Dec 4.

He hoped that the ministry and the media will continue to have good cooperation in bridging the gap between the government and the people through dissemination of information.

At the same time, FSJA has proposed a partnership with the ministry to create a new award category under KJA which focuses on newswriting highlighting issues related to domestic trade and consumer affairs.

Previously, KDPNHEP has held media award events annually to celebrate the media’s contribution with the last one held in 2015. — DayakDaily
