KUCHING, Dec 31: The youths are Sarawak’s future, which is why the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)  government is focusing on youth development, said Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap.

Yap stated in a press release issued today that Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s recent announcement that the State’s youths will receive free tertiary education in Sarawak-owned universities and colleges of higher education by 2025 aims to create a highly educated and skilled workforce for a prosperous Sarawak.

“The GPS Sarawak government is committed to increasing household income, and the way forward to achieve this is through human capital development for a highly educated and skilled labour force, which in turn will ensure higher paying jobs,” he said when officiating at the ‘Farewell 2023 & Welcome 2024 Dinner’ organised by the Federation Of Chinese Association Kuching Samarahan & Serian Divisions, Sarawak (Youth Section).

He continued: “Let us be reminded to continue supporting the GPS-led Sarawak government with a proven track record of delivering the best policies and initiatives to propel Sarawak towards a prosperous and developed region.

“We must stay united behind the GPS-led Sarawak government for political stability, which is crucial for ensuring Sarawak achieves its vision of a developed and prosperous region by 2030.” — DayakDaily
