The grant, secured through his efforts, will assist the school in building a new classroom block, providing students with a more conducive learning environment.

The release mentioned that the RM300,000 grant is in addition to RM200,000 that Yap had previously allocated to the school through his Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) and Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocations.

During the grant handover ceremony, witnessed by members of the Kampung Sungai Tapang Development and Security Committee (JKKK), the Kota Sentosa assemblyman emphasised the importance of adhering to financial regulations when using the funds.

He reminded the school board to ensure that the spending aligns with the scope of the project and to submit periodic progress reports to Unifor until the grant is fully utilised.

Yap revealed plans to replace old furniture in the school next year.

He also asked all of the teachers and staff at SK St Alban to collaborate in nation-building by providing high-quality education.

“Together, we can make a positive impact on the education of our children and help Sarawak achieve its vision of a prosperous and high income nation,” he said. — DayakDaily
