The presentation ceremony was jointly organised by Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Stutong Melayu, Surau Al-Mukhlis, and the Kota Sentosa Service Centre.

During the event, Yap also allocated his Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM3,000 to the surau to support their Ramadan activities.

Yap expressed his commitment to increase the number of aid recipients in the future through the Kota Sentosa Service Centre, with aim to lighten their financial burdens, especially during the Raya festivities.

“In Sarawak, a region rich in multiculturalism and religious diversity, let us celebrate Ramadan and the upcoming Syawal with other people of different beliefs or religions in the spirit of belonging as one community.

“We are all Sarawakians regardless of race or religion. This is because the most important aspect of any religion is compassion and helping the poor and less able,” Yap stated.

Yap emphasised the importance of fostering unity amidst diversity, promoting a culture of giving, sharing, and caring for all Sarawakians regardless of their backgrounds.

“Let this event be a day when the disparity between people of different religions, the poor and the rich is reduced and smiles are presented to everyone’s face.

“Let us cherish and strengthen the unity among our people for political stability, which is vital for the continued progress and development of Sarawak,” he concluded. — DayakDaily
