Driver killed in roadside crash with excavator in Jalan Nanga Tutus, Sibu

The condition of the vehicle driven by the deceased which collided with an excavator.

KUCHING, March 31: A driver was killed after his vehicle crashed onto the rear of an excavator parked along Jalan Nanga Tutus in Sibu.

According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak operation centre, they received an emergency call about the incident at 9.27pm yesterday (March 30) and swiftly deployed a team of firefighters from the Sungai Merah Station to the location.


The operation commander reported that the incident involved a Perodua Kenari, driven by the victim, which collided with the excavator.

Firefighters discovered the victim unconscious in the driver’s seat. They proceeded to extract him using a scoop stretcher.

Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead on-site by medical personnel from Sibu Hospital.

Subsequently, the deceased’s body was handed over to the police for further investigation and necessary procedures. – DayakDaily
