Kota Sentosa rep channels RM25,000 to SK Sungai Stutong, SMK DPHA Gapor for better learning facilities

KUCHING, Feb 25: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap today handed over a total of RM25,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants to the Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG) of SK Sungai Stutong and SMK DPHA Gapor, aimed at enhancing school facilities and purchasing essential educational equipment.

Of the allocation, RM15,000 was granted to SK Sungai Stutong for the purchase of school equipment and upgrades to its facilities, while RM10,000 went to SMK DPHA Gapor for similar improvements.

Yap reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening education in his constituency, emphasising that a conducive learning environment and adequate facilities are vital to nurturing capable, confident, and competitive students.

“Our children deserve the best possible environment to learn and grow. By equipping our schools with better facilities and resources, we are not only supporting teachers in delivering quality education but also empowering our students to reach their full potential,” he said in a media release.

He highlighted that these allocations mirror the Sarawak government’s commitment to ensuring inclusive educational development, adding that collaboration among elected representatives, school management, PIBGs, and the wider community is key to building a strong foundation for the next generation.

Yap also praised the dedication of school administrators, teachers, and PIBG members who continuously strive to enhance educational standards and student welfare.

“As the elected representative for Kota Sentosa, I will continue to advocate for and channel resources to initiatives that directly benefit our students and uplift our community. Investing in education today is building a brighter, stronger Sarawak tomorrow,” he added.

The MRP grants will be used to upgrade learning facilities, enhance infrastructure, and ensure both schools are better equipped to meet the evolving needs of their students. — DayakDaily
