KUCHING, May 10: Residents of Kota Sentosa will soon benefit from improved healthcare facilities following the implementation of two infrastructure upgrade projects worth RM900,000 under Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap’s approved Rural Transformation Project (RTP).
According to a report by Suara Sarawak, Yap said, RM500,000 has been allocated for the construction of a new medical laboratory at the Kota Sentosa Health Clinic.
“This laboratory is expected to increase diagnostic capabilities and speed up the treatment process for patients in the area.
“Another RM400,000 will be used for the upgrading works of the Sentosa Psychiatric Hospital – involving the repair of the car park and the renovation of the occupational therapy hall and multipurpose hall,” he added.
Yap also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the people of Kota Sentosa are not left behind when it comes to access to essential healthcare services.
Yesterday, he conducted a working visit to the Kota Sentosa Health Clinic and Sentosa Psychiatric Hospital to monitor the progress of the projects, which are being implemented by the Public Works Department (JKR).
He expressed his appreciation to the Sarawak State Health Department, JKR, and frontline healthcare workers at both facilities for their dedication and cooperation in making the RTP projects a success. – DayakDaily
