KUCHING, Aug 23: Michael Kong Feng Nian, a special assistant to Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen, urges authorities to take quick action to remove sacks allegedly containing pigs thrown into Sungai Semenggo 2 in order to avoid further nuisance and potential health concerns to members of the public.

According to Kong’s statement, Democratic Action Party (DAP) Stampin branch received a complaint from a few local residents that Sungai Semenggo 2, which is situated nearby, reeks of a very unpleasant and foul smell.

“In light of the recent spike in African Swine Fever (ASF) disease in Sarawak, the authorities and also operators of pig farms must work hand-in-hand to ensure the situation is contained properly.
