KUCHING, Dec 23: Special assistant to Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen, Micheal Kong is urging the Public Works Department (JKR) to address the steep gradient of road intersection connecting Lorong Liu Shan Bang 6C with Jalan Liu Shan Bang.
Kong in a statement today, said the business owners at Lorong Liu Shan Bang 6C have been raising concerns about the five-foot high gradient, which they have deemed to be too steep.
According to him, it is difficult for cars to exit Lorong Liu Shan Bang 6C and onto Jalan Liu Shan Bang without worrying about rolling or slipping backwards while waiting for the traffic to clear.
“As such, I will be writing to JKR to seek their assistance to take such steps to rectify this. It is hoped that JKR can be more proactive to resolve all road issues before any untoward accidents happen,” he said.
Kong noted there is also a need for a yellow ‘no stopping zone’ box to be drawn at the intersection.
“It is to enable the vehicles to exit the from Lorong Liu Shan Bang 6C easily,” he explained. — DayakDaily
