KUCHING, Sept 12: KKB Engineering Berhad (KKBEB) subsidiary and oil and gas (O&G) unit, OceanMight Sdn Bhd (OMSB), has been licensed by Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) since 2013 and tendered for and been awarded a total of 14 contracts worth a combined sum of more than RM1.1 billion.

KKBEB group executive director Kho Pok Tong said the projects have been successfully and safely completed, recording a total of over 6.5-million-manhours and with zero lost time injury (LTI).

“This excellent health, safety and environment (HSE) track record is one the company targets to maintain in years to come and the safety of its personnel is paramount to the company.

“With continued stability and further development of Sarawak, since 2010 the Group has progressively invested around RM147 million as at June 2022, in its expansion and diversification into the O&G unit.

“KKBEB Group is confident and would continue to participate in some of the objectives under our State’s Post-Covid Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) in years to come,” he said in a statement today.

At the same time, the company is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year with various activities spanning from July to September.

In July 2022, KKBEB kicked off the anniversary’s celebration with a series of badminton matches amongst the Group of Companies.

With community spirit in mind, two charity events were held ā€“ a Charity Fun Run on Aug 28 and collaborative CSR Food Sale with Persatuan Bagi Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal Sarawak (Perkata) on Sept 4.

A combined sum of RM100,000 was raised by the approximately 600 employees of the company in both charity events and was donated to 10 charity bodies and Perkata.

The company’s recent activity was a fun-filled telematch held at its O&G yard located in Jalan Bako, Muara Tebas here on Saturday (Sept 10).

Gracing the event were Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability-cum-Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni and Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) Mayor Datu Junaidi Reduan.

Later, KKBEB founder and chairman Dato Sri Kho Kak Beng presented a donation to Masjid Darul Ikhwan of Kampung Muara Tebas under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to Dr Hazland. ā€” DayakDaily
