KKB ships first module batch for Samsung Engineering’s O&G equipment project in Bintulu

KUCHING, July 3: OceanMight Sdn Bhd (OMSB), oil and gas (O&G) unit and subsidiary of KKB Engineering Berhad (KKBEB), has shipped its first batch of completed modules for the Samsung E&A module fabrication and supply of steel structures for the Malaysia Shell R&M onshore gas plant project in Bintulu.

KKBEB Group said this was a significant milestone in the module fabrication contract which comprises 28 large structures, including 21 pre-assembled piperacks (PARs), six pre-assembled process module units (PAUs), and a skid, with a total weight of approximately 9,300 metric tonnes.

In conjunction with the loadout, the company also celebrated the achievement of one million safe exposure hours and 300 no-defect days for the same project.

KKBEB Group managing director and OMSB director Kho Pok Tong said OceanMight does not compromise on safety and quality as it governs every aspect of its business conduct.

“We are proud of our impressive achievements, and I’d like to extend my sincere thanks and congratulations to OMSB’s committed team and workforce of some 1,200 personnel for making this meaningful milestone possible.

On a separate note, OMSB was awarded the PETRONAS OSHCIM Mentorship Programme 2.0 Award as a principal contractor and designer for the Bakau Non-Associated Gas (NAG) project at a recent PETRONAS Project Delivery and Technology (PD&T) Conference. — DayakDaily
