KUCHING, Aug 28: KKB Engineering Berhad (KKBEB) has raised a sum of RM75,000 through its Charity Fun Run event as part of activities held in conjunction with the company’s 60th anniversary.
According to a statement, the donations were channelled to 10 charity bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), namely The Salvation Army, Mile 7 Sacred Heart Church, Kuching Autistic Association, Kuching Parkinson’s Society, 2 Tree Lodge, Surau Darul Hidayatul Salihin, Kuching Buddhist Society, Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak, Kampung Atas Singai Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), and Kuching Division Journalists Association.
Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian was present to officiate at the event and handed over the donations to the recipients at KKBEB headquarters in Jalan Kilang yesterday.
KKBEB Group executive director Kho Pok Tong said anniversary celebrations had kicked off last month (July 2022) with a series of activities including the Charity Fun Run.
“KKB will continue with its anniversary celebration with the next charity sale in collaboration with Perkata Special School Sarawak (Perkata) on Sept 4 and a final telematch to be held on Sept 10.
“The anniversary celebration will culminate with a Grand Gala Dinner to take place on Sept 23. To celebrate this 60th anniversary milestone, our Premier of Sarawak (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg) has agreed to grace the dinner as our special guest-of-honour (GOH),” he said.
The company has progressed from a humble welding shop into a diversified and public listed company since 1994. Its core expertise in steel fabrication expanded into the production of LPG cylinders, steel piles and pipes, civil construction, hot dip galvanizing and oil and gas.
Its subsidiary and oil and gas unit OceanMight Sdn Bhd (OMSB) has been licensed by Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) since 2013 and has successfully participated in project scopes ranging from procurement and construction to EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction), EPCC (engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning) and EPCIC (engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning).
Since 2014, OMSB has successfully tendered for and been awarded a total of 14 contracts worth a combined sum of more than RM1.1 billion. All projects clocked a total of 1.6 million man hours and with zero lost time injury (LTI). – DayakDaily
