MIRI, April 25: Sarawak Bumiputera Teachers Union (KGBS) president Ahmad Malie welcomes the Education Minister’s recent announcement to increase student enrolment for matriculation programmes.

When contacted today, he said the move would help potential students entering universities for a short period of time.

Along with this announcement by Maszlee, the Cabinet also decided to retain the enrolment quota at 90 per cent Bumiputera students

“I hope our Bumupetera students grab this opportunity and strive for excellence,” said Ahmad, adding that priority should be given to students from Sarawak as well.

He also hoped that the Education Ministry provide or improve facilities in order to achieve their mission. — DayakDaily
