Kg Senari and Kg Bunga Rampai among six locations placed under EMCO

KUCHING, July 29: Kampung Senari, Kuching and Kampung Bunga Rampai, Bau are among six new locations placed under lockdown as announced by the authorities today.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement, Kampung Senari which has accummulated 25 cases will be under an Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) starting tomorrow (July 30) until Aug 12, 2021.

As for Kampung Bunga Rampai, it will be under EMCO from July 31 until Aug 13.

In Simunjan, the residents of Workers’ Hostel Complex, Sungai Mangga Plantation at Tersak-Tanjung Melano will see a lockdown too after 55 Covid-19 cases were detected.

The plantation workers and their families will be under a 14-day lockdown from July 30 to Aug 12.

Likewise, the for tenants of rented rooms above a car wash in Bintulu have been placed under EMCO since July 27 with the restriction is expected to be lifted on Aug 9.

In Tatau, residents of Rumah Ajah Anak Umkar, Sungai Serupai Baru and Rumah Nibong Anak Kerokoh, Sungai Entajum have been ordered to stay put within their longhouses after at least 30 Covid-19 cases were detected. The lockdown for the two longhouses is from yesterday until Aug 10, 2021.

Meanwhile, six other locations saw their EMCOs ended effective today.

They are Rumah Jerah of Balai Sare in Sarikei, Rumah Dennis of Sungai Klampai and Ruman Jangan of Nanga Gong Ulu in Saratok, Rumah Kelabit of Engkalat in Betong, Kampung Tabuan Melayu in Kuching and Rumah Belayong Anak Buang along KM22 Jalan Bintulu/Tatau. — DayakDaily
