KUCHING, Aug 29: Kampung Kaman in Jalan Krokong, Bau is at the centre of a new community cluster dubbed the Kaman Cluster with 63 confirmed cases so far.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said a total of 149 individuals have been screened.
“Of the total, 63 people tested positive for Covid-19 including the index case while 86 were negative,” the committee said.
SDMC also revealed that four of 179 new infections recorded in Bau today were linked to the Kaman Cluster.
All positive cases from the cluster have been referred and admitted to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) as well as Kuching and Bau Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRCs) for isolation and further treatment.
With the addition of the Kaman Cluster, there are eight active clusters in Bau at present.
Meanwhile, SDMC announced the end of the Abu Bengang Cluster in Saratok and Pasar Stutong 2 Cluster in Kuching after no new infections were reported within the past 28 days.
Currently, there are 130 active clusters in the State with 27 of them reporting 238 new positive cases today. — DayakDaily
