KUCHING, Nov 27: The annual Chinese New Year (CNY) festive sale or CNY Bazaar at Kenyalang Park here will resume in 2022 from Jan 21 to 31.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the event was recently approved by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
“The day before yesterday, we (MBKS) received the approval letter from SDMC along with some SOPs (standard operating procedures).
“So, for business owners who would like to join the bazaar as vendors, please let us know,” he said.
Due to the need for strict compliance with the SOPs, Wee noted that the number of stalls might need to be halved this time round.
However, he added, if many businesses were to show interest in selling their products at the bazaar, the Council would try to identify another bigger location to accommodate more stalls.
“I know local businesses have suffered in these two years. So, I understand it’s an opportunity for them to gain some profit before CNY next year,” he said during his 88th ShallWEETalk Facebook live streaming session today.
Further details and instructions pertaining to the CNY Bazaar will be announced in the coming days by the committee in-charge, said Wee.
