KUCHING, July 19: The Sarawak government covers the cost of health check-ups for citizens over the age of 60.
Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg stated that those who already have a Kenyalang Gold Card can take advantage of the benefit.
“Recently I have instructed that for those who are over 60-years-old, their health check-up is included in the Kenyalang Gold Card.
“”Not only from the point of view of discounts on buying goods, but the government’s health check-up costs are covered under the Kenyalang Gold Card,” he said today after officiating at the Sarawak Level Maal Hijrah celebration, which was held at the Sarawak Islamic Complex hall here.
He said the Sarawak government is able to finance the cost because the State’s income has increased.
He noted that the income is returned to the people.
“In 2022 our income is RM12 billion, doubling from the previous year. So in this way, we give back to the people,” Abang Johari added. — DayakDaily
