Keep quiet if you are not Cabinet members, PH lawmakers told

KUCHING, May 6: A government backbencher has found it strange that some elected representatives from Pakatan Harapan (PH) had taken upon themselves to speak out on national and government policies as though they are the prime minister.

Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya (GPS-Jemoreng) reckoned only cabinet ministers have the authority to speak on such matters.

ā€œPrime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said only the cabinet can make decisions on national and government policies.

ā€œSo, now I am confused whether these (PH) elected representatives had the permission to speak out on behalf of the cabinet or the prime minister,ā€ he said in his debate on the TYT address at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) today.

Juanda reminded all members of the august House that Dr Mahathir is the chief executive of Malaysia and what he said must be respected.

ā€œNational and government policies are big things and no Tom, Dick and Harry should speak about it. And whatever these elected representatives promise to Sarawak as per their manifesto could be fake,ā€ he cautioned.

Juanda also challenged PH elected representatives to list down what they had done for Sarawak after one year of PH helming Putrajaya.

ā€œI noticed that some of these elected representatives are either complaining or are busybodies. They also attend to problems that are not in their constituencies.

ā€œYou are elected by the people and are already in the central government. Do your work, donā€™t complain or do work for others. Walk the talk,ā€ he advised. ā€” DayakDaily
