KUCHING, May 20: The State-level Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s birthday celebration this year will be held in Kapit on June 5 and 6.

Minister in the Premier of Sarawak’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai said the two-day celebration would be held at the Kapit Town Square.

“What is special for this year’s celebration is that the Kapit community will be entertained with a symphony concert and orchestra featuring Sarawakian singers.

“For the official celebration, there will be a tea ceremony held in the morning on June 6,” he told reporters during a press conference at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.

Sikie said a song entitled ‘Simfonituanku’ was also produced for this year’s celebration.

He added various other programmes have also been lined up, such as a Ngajat Pua Kumbu dance performance and a musical medley of ‘Dramatari of Lagenda Menggin dan Tinchin Temaga’. — DayakDaily
