Kapit MP calls for fast-tracking of RM30 mln Kapit bus terminal project

KUCHING, April 8: Kapit MP Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi has called for the swift implementation of a RM30 million bus terminal project at a new site along Jalan Bleteh in Kapit.

During a meeting with various government agencies at the Kapit Resident’s Office yesterday (April 7), Nanta reminded all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the project is executed promptly and efficiently.

“The project will feature comprehensive facilities and a modern design,” he said in a social media post following the meeting.

Among the other matters discussed was the Katibas Integrated Terminal in Song.

Following the meeting, Nanta, who is also Malaysia Works Minister, also witnessed the presentation of appointment letters to community leaders and tribal chiefs.

A total of 16 new tribal chiefs were appointed, while the service of 40 others was extended.

In a brief speech, Nanta reminded the appointees of their significant roles in Kapit’s development.

“All parties, including elected leaders, grassroots leaders, and the community at large, must work together as a team.

“Only through the support of all stakeholders can development plans for Kapit be implemented smoothly,” he said.

Nanta also visited the Hulu Rajang Development Agency to inspect ongoing construction works within the agency’s interior region.

Also present were Bukit Goram assemblyman Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang, Kapit Resident Elvis Didit, Kapit District Officer Cerisologo Sabut and other government officers. — DayakDaily
