KUCHING, Sept 21: Kanowit has joined Lubok Antu in recording Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at the ‘very unhealthy’ level as of 9am today.
According to data from the Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak (NREB), Kanowit recorded the highest API reading at 209, followed by Lubok Antu at 205.
This indicated an increase in Sunday’s (Sept 20) 4pm readings, with Lubok Antu recording an API of 202 and Kanowit 157.
Meanwhile, most areas in the State recorded unhealthy API readings, with Serian and Kapit at 167 each, along with Sri Aman (161), Bintulu (159), Kuching (158), Samarahan and Miri (157), Sibu and Betong (156), Samalaju (155), ILP Miri (139), Lundu (124), and Limbang (102).
Moderate readings were recorded in Sarikei and Tebedu (97), Mukah (82), Lawas (78), and Bario (64). — DayakDaily
