LIMBANG, Aug 20: Long-standing electricity supply issues in Kampung Limpasong are set to be addressed through the village’s integration into the electricity grid system.

The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported that Batu Danau assemblyman Dato Paulus Palu Gumbang said preliminary works were already underway, with Sesco Berhad clearing the electricity line route for the project.

“The works also involve trimming branches and fruit trees near the line route to prevent supply disruptions or short circuits once the grid system becomes operational,” he said when officiating the Thanksgiving Dinner and Family Day celebration organised by the Kampung Limpasong Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) at the Kampung Limpasong Hall yesterday (Aug 19).

He urged villagers to cooperate with Sesco during the clearing works to facilitate the smooth implementation of the project and ensure lasting benefits for the community.

Meanwhile, Paulus said Kampung Limpasong continued to strengthen community ties through various activities involving local residents.

At the event, RM510,000 was also presented to the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) Kampung Limpasong, while RM5,000 was allocated to the village’s Women’s Bureau to support community activities.

Also present were Bisaya community leader Pemanca Jun Sillah, community leader Ekit Awang, Kampung Limpasong headman Amboi Siok, as well as Limbang District councillors Elvis Mathew and Mohd Hidayat Abdullah. — DayakDaily
