Kakus to get MRP funds worth RM1.8 million this year

KUCHING, May 14: An allocation of RM1.8 million will be distributed to recipients in the Kakus constituency this year under the minor rural project (MPR), said its assemblyman Datuk John Sikie Tayai.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Sikie said the allocation would be made in stages.

“Yesterday (May 13), a cheque worth RM330,900 was handed over to recipients at Rumah Rami Pengkalan Lobang in Mukah, followed by another MRP cheque worth RM257,600 at Rumah Jarau.


“This morning (May 14) at the Tatau District Office, RM565,000 was also handed over to recipients,” he said during the MRP handing over ceremony held at the Tatau District Office on Friday.

Sikie added that in the last two days, he had distributed RM1,153,500 to more than 70 village development and security committees (JKKKs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the Kakus constituency.

Sikie also distributed RM594,200 in MRP allocation to 41 JKKKs and NGOs in the Kakus constituency at the ceremony. — DayakDaily
