KUCHING, May 19: The Kajang community in Sarawak wants the Sarawak government to increase the representation of its people by appointing more community leaders among them.

Pertubuhan Komuniti Etnik Kajang Sarawak (PKEKS) special advisor Jay Jonoi Surai in a statement today said it is high time for the State government to review the community leaders distribution policy for the Kajang community.

“I would like to suggest a 1:1:3 formula with one Temenggong, one Pemanca and three Penghulu(s) among the Kajang community,” he said.

He said this proposal can only be realised following the agreement of all ruling parties.

“We hope the elected representatives would take note and support this following the submission of a resolution which represents the voices of the majority of the Kajang community in Belaga Division,” he added. — DayakDaily
