KUCHING, Nov 21: PKR Julau branch chairman Larry Sng believes that his party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should not be discouraged by “a few” who are collaborating with UMNO to destroy the party.

“Hopefully YB DS Anwar Ibrahim will not be discouraged by the actions of the few in PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat), who are out to destroy the party in collaboration with UMNO (United Malays National Organisation),” according to Sng in a statement on his social media page today.

On the cancellation of the PKR Sarawak Convention, Sng who pledged his support for Anwar claimed PKR headquarters endorsed the meeting.

“Despite the decision from MPN (State Leadership Council) Sarawak to cancel the convention, PKR headquarters has issued a letter legitimising the event. Why should Sarawakians be prevented from meeting our future PM (Prime Minister)?

“As a loyalist to my president and the party, it is my duty to follow party protocol. The tussle in PKR youth wing should not concern Sarawakians.”

Sng also disclosed he would be attending the convention which is expected to be graced by Anwar.

“I will be sending a delegation from Julau to attend the Sarawak PKR convention in Miri because this is a good opportunity for our delegates to meet YB DS Anwar Ibrahim, future PM of Malaysia. He has taken the time to travel around all the states in Malaysia, to inspire and meet people from all strata of society.

“His vision is to build a better Malaysia where all races are respected and prosperity is shared amongst its people, especially the B40 group, regardless of race,” Sng added.

He opined Anwar’s frequent trips to Sarawak are because the latter cares about rural Sarawak.

“He cares deeply about rural Sarawak and its people which is why he has been making several trips to Kuching, Sibu and now to Miri since his release from prison last year. As a Sarawakian, I feel it is more important for our federal leaders to get to know us and to assist Sarawak by giving us our fair share of development funding,” Sng added. — DayakDaily
