JPJ Sarawak allows walk-in services starting today

KUCHING, Sept 9: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) counter services at 12 th Mile Kuching-Serian road is open 100 per cent for walk-in services on a ‘first come first serve’ basis starting today (Sept 9).

JPJ Sarawak in a notice said the presence of customers will be limited according to the counter’s capacity.


At the same time, the department also provides mobile drive-through services for driving licence renewal, motor vehicle roadtax renewal, payment of summon and collection of roadtax and driving licence transactions made through the mySIKAP portal.

For those renewing their roadtax, they are required to bring along their identification card and for those renewing their driving licence, they need to bring along a copy of their photo with white background.

JPJ Sarawak added for those who had made appointment through its appointment system earlier, the appointment is cancelled immediately starting today (Sept 9).

The department said its operation hours on weekdays is from 8am to 5pm and weekends from 9am to 1pm.

Meanwhile, JPJ Sarawak director Norizan Jili went to the ground to witness himself the mobile drive-through services provided by the deparment yesterday.

At the same time, he also distributed the Jalur Gemilang to JPJ staff and customers in conjunction with National Day and the upcoming Malaysia Day celebration on Sep 16.

Norizan was accompanied by JPJ Sarawak deputy director Erick Jusiang, JPJ head of road safety unit Christopher Alex and a few JPJ staff during the distribution of Jalur Gemilang. — DayakDaily
