KUCHING, Nov 12: The Magistrate’s Court here sentenced an unemployed man to a fine of RM3,000 for failing to produce a MyKad.
The accused, Joker Sumbang, pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was charged with failing to produce his identity card at Jalan Abell Padungan, at about 2pm on October 28, 2019.
Magistrate Nuruhuda Mohd Yusof sentenced him to a fine of RM3,000 or in default, four months’ imprisonment.
The accused was charged under Regulation 25(1)(a) of the National Registration Regulations 1990, which carries an imprisonment term of not more than three years or a fine between RM3,000 and RM20,000 upon conviction.
