Jobless man pleads not guilty to 2 charges of causing grievous hurt

KUCHING, May 13: An unemployed man claimed trial at two Sessions Courts here today to voluntarily causing grievous hurt to two individuals.

Alan Ong Wei Hua, 30, pleaded not guilty to the two charges framed under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which carries imprisonment that may extend to 20 years and with fine or whipping, upon conviction.


Sessions Court Judge Mohd Taufik Mohd Yusoff fixed June 12 for pretrial case management (PTCM), while Sessions Court Judge Dayang Ellyn Narisa Abang Ahmad fixed May 29 for PTCM.

Ong was charged before Mohd Taufik with allegedly hurting Yap Po Soon, 38, with a parang (machete) on Aug 6, 2018, at about 1am at KMC Flat.

He was charged before Dayang Ellyn with allegedly hurting Anthony Gan, 44, with a Samurai Kuantau at a worker’s room of Xanadu Pub, Jalan Mendu, with four others who are still at large on Jan 7, 2019, at about 3.35am.

DPP Nurfadzlin Mahmad Zulhasnan prosecuted, while the accused was not represented. — DayakDaily
