Jobless man jailed four months for assaulting stepsister

KUCHING, Sept 23: A jobless man was sentenced to four months in jail for hurting his stepsister.

Muhammad Amni Wa’ie Mohd Samsudin, 27, pleaded guilty to the charge framed under Section 323 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 326A of the same Code.


Magistrate Zaiton Anuar sentenced him to a jail term of four months, with effect from September 19, the date of his arrest.

The accused was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to his 21-year-old stepsister at their house in Kampung Lintang, at about 6.15pm on September 19.

According to the facts of the case, on the day of the incident, she asked the accused to wipe the table after she saw that the accused had finished eating.

Suddenly the accused struck the woman in the face and said that she was too noisy and had been nagging since morning.

The victim then lodged a police report as she was concerned about her safety.
