Jobless man charged with murder to be sent to Hospital Sentosa for observation

KUCHING, Feb 23: The Sessions Court here ordered a jobless man who was charged with homicide not amounting to murder to be sent to Hospital Sentosa Kuching for observation for a month.

Sessions Court Judge Dayang Ellyn Narisa Abang Ahmad made the order and instructed the accused be brought to the court on March 23 for further mention of the case.


Azizan Zainal, 28, was charged under Section 304 of the Penal Code, for causing the death of his grandaunt Dara Mohamad, at her house in Kampung Rampangi, Semariang.

Dara, 66, was found unconscious on a chair by her sister and was pronounced dead by Sarawak General Hospital paramedics on Sept 21.

The cause is believed to be a misunderstanding between the deceased and the accused regarding money.
