Jobless Indonesian arrested for alleged drug possession

The seized illegal substances believed to be syabu.

MIRI, May 11: An unemployed Indonesian man in his 30s has been detained by Miri Narcotics Crime Investigation Department this morning on suspicion of possessing syabu (Methamphetamine).

In the 8.50am raid on a room in a building in Batu Niah, police found 19 straw tubes filled with a substance believed to be syabu.


According to city police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, the seized drug weighed 5.5g and had a market value of RM750.

Lim added that the suspect had been tested positive for drugs and that he had “no previous records of drug-related offences”.

The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
