KUCHING, Nov 16: A family of four was robbed at knife point by three masked man at Jalan Stephen Yong, today.

Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan disclosed the incident occurred in a house at Taman Tematu Hill at 4.30am.

Three men broke into the house and woke up one of the occupants before pointing a knife at them and demanding the victim remain silent.

“The victim woke up to find that three other family members had been tied at the hands and feet using nylon string and iron clothing hangers.

“One of the suspects demanded the key for a four-wheel-drive vehicle which belong to the victim and used it as a gateway vehicle,” Aidil revealed in a press statement today.

He noted that the three suspects were believed to include an Indonesian after they were heard using the word ‘mobil’ (car) during the incident.

He also said that robbers were believed to have gained entry into the house through a window which was cut open.

“One of the victims suffered a red bruise to the back after being struck with the back of the knife by a suspect, while three others were unharmed,” he added.

Among the items reported to be stolen were four mobile phone units, a television set and a piggy bank. — DayakDaily
