A meeting conducted at MBKS to discuss temporary measures to ease traffic flow at Kuching-Samarahan Expressway on Jan 4, 2022.

Lately, road users have been suffering from massive traffic congestion along the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway due to the ongoing traffic light intersection project’s construction works.

Many motorists, who must use that road either to reach or leave Samarahan, have since taken to posting their experiences on social media.

One of the complainers said they took over four hours to travel from Unimas to Ibraco, and another complained about having to leave their house in Samarahan at 5am just to reach work on time at 9am.

The expressway is now popularly known by the public as ‘Jemarahan’ (‘jem’ + ‘Samarahan’). — Dayakdaily
