KUCHING, Dec 1: Effective Jan 1, 2023, three Public Works Department (JKR) project regional offices in Sarawak will be closed down.
Deputy Premier-cum-Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said this is part of JKR Sarawak’s restructuring process.
In accordance with the revised JKR management structure, he added, personnel in regional offices would be redistributed to divisional offices.
This is following an internal review of JKR Sarawak’s functional structure for better delivery of services to the people of Sarawak.
“The internal review process will be a continuous exercise throughout the years to come,” said Uggah in his ministerial winding-up speech in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting here today. — DayakDaily
