KUCHING, Oct 24: Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian commends the Public Works Department (JKR) for its prompt action to address the poor drainage issue in Batu Kawah.
Sim who is also Batu Kawah assemblyman thanked JKR for solving the severely blocked drainage system on both sides of the federal road from Jalan Batu Kawah, Stapok until Datuk Chong Kiun Kong Bridge.
“I appreciate JKR’s prompt action in solving this issue,” expressed Dr Sim in a press statement today.
However, Dr Sim reiterated that it is JKR’s responsibility to improve, upgrade and plan road development.
He also hoped that JKR would pay more attention to the Batu Kawah area’s drainage system and road conditions, and perform routine maintenance works to ensure the safety of all road users. — DayakDaily
