KUCHING, April 10: There are still some issues related to land disputes and overlapping claims involving development carried out for the people in Bintulu, says Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Talib highlighted these issues to the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during a courtesy call at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.

“There is no development that does not have problems concerning land.

“When there is land, people will fight for land or overlapping claims and this is among matters we brought up to the Premier,” he told reporters after the courtesy call.

Talib further added that among the development projects implemented in Bintulu is the Bintulu-Jepak Bridge construction project, the Jepak Jaya development project involving more than 8,300 housing lots and an administrative centre. — DayakDaily
