KUCHING, March 1: Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) lauded the Public Works Department (JKR) and its contractor on the progress of the two projects, namely the traffic lights at five roundabouts along the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway, and the expansion of Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa.

Its chairman, Dato Peter Minos in a statement, revealed that MPKS was informed by JKR and its contractor the traffic lights at the five roundabouts will be completed in November, and the project at Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa will be finished in September.

“MPKS is happy that the above two projects are proceeding pretty well, and thanks to good JKR contractors in their earnest commitment they put in.

“This is good news for us as the work at the Tabuan Tranquility roundabout is almost finished and well done. Both MPKS and Kuching South City Council MBKS) are pretty happy,” he revealed.

“Yesterday (Feb 28), [Deputy Premier] Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and JKR also inspected the busy Jalan Mohammad Musa. It is happy news, and if this road is not improved and is not expanded, it will be a big nightmare for motorists.”

He explained that any project undertaken in Samarahan by any government agency is badly delayed and or aborted, members of the public in Samarahan may always refer to the council. — DayakDaily
