Jalan Tatau-Bintulu accident claims woman’s life, injures 3 others

BINTULU, Nov 3: A Toyota Avanza vehicle plunged into a ravine along Jalan Tatau-Bintulu near Bintulu Airport in the wee hours today, resulting in a woman losing her life and three others injured.

According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 2.33am and subsequently despatched a team of firefighters from Bintulu Fire Station led by operation commander Sukri Salleh, to the scene.

Upon arrival, the team discovered that four victims had already been extricated from the vehicle by members of the public.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man and 44-year-old woman suffered head injuries while a 14-year-old girl sustained fractures to both legs.

Firefighters provided initial medical treatment to the victims and transferred them to waiting ambulances for further care. — DayakDaily
